Catherine Dent is a native of Salem, Missouri. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Administration and serves the Salem R-80 school system as its vocal music instructor and as the accompanist for the music department. Catherine and her husband, Hobart Porter, own and operate Dent, L.L.C. Catherine also has a private music studio. Catherine comes from a Masonic family. Her Mother is a member of Salem Chapter #186, Order of the Eastern Star and is a Past Mother Advisor of Salem Assembly #17. Her late father was a 33 degree Mason, a Past Patron, Past Worshipful Master and a member of Moolah Shrine. Her sister is a Past State Dean of the Missouri State Preceptory, Grand Cross of Color. Catherine joined the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls in 1965 at the age of 12. She was awarded the Grand Cross of Color in May, 1968 and in September, 1968 served as Worthy Advisor of Salem Assembly #17. She received her majority at Missouri Grand Assembly in June, 1973. She held the following offices: State Page to State Vision, State Page to State Victory, State Recorder, Grand Page to C.O. Simpson, Supreme Inspector, Grand Musician, Grand Treasurer, Grand Deputy (approx. 20 years), State Musician (twice), State Truth, State Vision, State Victory, and State Dean of the State Preceptory Grand Cross of Color. She served for 15 years as Mother Advisor of Salem Assembly #17, is a member of Salem Chapter #186, Order of the Eastern Star, and is a charter member of Eternal Court #17, Order of Amaranth. Catherine was appointed as a Supreme Deputy on July 22, 1998 in St. Louis and elected to the House of Gold in July, 2006 at the Supreme Assembly sessions in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
